Ultimecia Castle
Overview
Ultimecia Castle is the game's final and most elaborate dungeon, suspended above the ruined future of Centra. On entry, most battle commands and menu functions are sealed, and each guardian defeated allows one ability to be restored. The castle contains interconnected halls, galleries, towers, waterways, laboratories, a treasury, prison cells, hidden passages, and multiple environmental puzzles. Its enemies include a wide selection of monsters from throughout the game, while the optional Omega Weapon provides the strongest superboss challenge. The dungeon supports considerable freedom in guardian order and party division, but its atmosphere and structure emphasize preparation, exploration, and mastery of the game's systems rather than a simple linear approach.
