Deep Sea Research Center
Overview
The Deep Sea Research Center is a remote, partially submerged facility in the far southwestern ocean. The upper section uses a light-sensitive movement puzzle and a sequence of questions leading to the optional Bahamut battle. The lower excavation levels require careful management of steam pressure while descending through increasingly dangerous monster encounters. At the bottom, Ultima Weapon guards the Eden Guardian Force and one of the game's most valuable late-game rewards. The center contains no shops or safe settlement areas, and its enemies are among the strongest outside the final dungeon, making it a major optional challenge intended for a well-developed party.
