Final Fantasy IX

Abilities

Abilities in Final Fantasy IX are closely tied to the equipment each character uses, with weapons, armor, and accessories teaching new commands and passive skills through earned AP. Command abilities provide character-specific attacks, magic, and special techniques, while support abilities can be equipped with Magic Stones to improve attributes, resist status effects, strengthen attacks, or alter other aspects of battle. This guide covers every ability in the game, including its effect, MP and AP requirements, power, accuracy, status and elemental properties, supporting characters, and the equipment used to learn it.
